Our Volunteer Requirement

Coyotes Lacrosse is a volunteer organization and needs all families on board, playing an active role in the club.  A strong volunteer base is necessary and rewarding – it provides a strong sense of community and enables us to achieve our objectives as a club while limiting out costs.

A complete list of volunteer and staff roles along with their job descriptions can be found below.

As a part of registration, each family is required to designate two volunteer roles the family would be willing to fulfill.

Our head coaches are a mix of parent volunteers with experience in the game and hired non-parent coaches with more recent playing and coaching experience.    Our assistant coaches are almost exclusively parents with varying degrees of lacrosse and coaching experience.  We encourage all of you to consider helping as a coach regardless of your experience base.

Coyotes Lacrosse Job Descriptions:

Volunteer roles:

President:  oversee coordination among critical lacrosse and operational functions; generate and manage annual calendar with Club Administrator; board meeting management

Boys’ Rep:  coordinate management of all facets of the boys lacrosse program with the Boys Director

Girls’ Rep:  manage all facets of the girls lacrosse program, including staffing and management of coaches

Secretary:  maintain board minutes and corporate records

Treasurer:  develop and oversee annual budgets; present financials as prepared by bookkeeper at board meeting; coordinate filing of taxes with accounting firm

Bookkeeper:  prepare checks and maintain bank account/QuickBook records; prepare financial statements for taxes; oversee club mailbox

Communications Director:  help to both direct inbound e-mail traffic and generate outbound e-mail communications

Facilities and Equipment Director: works with the Club President to oversee work of Field Procurement Administrator, including attending certain park and rec/field related meetings AND the Club Administrator to manage storage locker inventory and equipment stored at various fields.

Field Procurement Administrator:  procure practice and game fields through local channels; maintain and communicate fields’ calendar for practices and games

Game Scheduling Administrator:   coordinate game scheduling efforts for club, including attending league game scheduling day in December; develop and maintain master game schedule template

Retail/Swag Director:  online swag store merchandising and maintenance; coach swag

Team Manager Coordinator:  ensure every team has a Team Manager; train team manager on season responsibilities, pre-game protocol and game day volunteer needs

Volunteer Recruitment and Special Events Director:  work with leadership team to fulfill all volunteer needs; organize volunteer and club special events


In addition to the above club volunteer roles, there is an array of other Team Volunteer Positions: 

Team Manager:  coordinates team communications with coaching staff, completes league mandated pre-game protocol and organizes game day volunteers

Sideline Manager:  keeps sidelines clear of parents and siblings; monitors sportsmanship of spectators

Score Keeper:  sits at sideline table, tracking score and completing scoresheets

Time Keeper:  sits at sideline table and maintains game clock


Staff positions include:

Club Administrator:  ensure club keeps to year-round deadlines; maintain web site, including directing e-mails to appropriate responder; run registration; maintain club equipment locker, field locker and uniform program with support

Boys’ Director:  manage all facets of the boys lacrosse program, including staffing and management of coaches and development and implementation of age/ability appropriate lacrosse curriculum across the club
